The part of me that wants to become a better photographer says that this is awful – the composition isn’t quite right, the trail of light down the center of the shot is completely blown out, the contrast balance isn’t anywhere close to where I want it, and on and on. The part of me that needed a moment of quiet in a dappled alley of cedars would love to dive right into this shot and just stay for a while, drenched by that too-bright-sun, and letting the branches trail across the top of my head. I so needed an escape on Saturday, and this, this was it.
